He's on one of the top five teams in the league, and i do think he's a candidate... but a weak candidate. Yao is arguably as valuable to the team as he is, and with two leading men, it'll surely dilute the vote; for him to win, the rockets needs to be the best team, not one of the top five.

As for the pacers, it's nearly impossible. The only player similar to tmac's caliber is joneal, and rockets don't need him, and the rockets aren't desperate to get rid of tmac to begin with.

He is an MVP candidate. Maybe be traded for two good Pacers.

Tracy "MY BACK HURTS!" McGrady is not an MVP material Dirk is going to win or Nash and the Rockets will not get rid of him unless they get a lot of value like future first round picks for the next 15 years

I don't think T-Mac is a candidate. He is a good player, but he hasn't been as good as he could be, and there are many great players out there that has been better than him this year (I have him on my fantasy team, and his recent fg% and ft% was horrible until yesterday). Anything is possible when it comes to trading and signing, so keep praying if you want him to go to Indiana.
