Crazy weather here in LA, Wind is blowing really strong and I see on the radar a thunderstorm is on the way, its starting to rain really hard, lets go tornado!

Tornadoes arent that rare in LA and LA country

40 tornadoes have been recored in LA county since 1918, thats almost 1 every 2 years. Most have been weak with the strongest rated a F2

It is possible for Tornandos in California... In my 20+ years living in LA, I don't remember more than a few water spouts.

I think the mountains do not allow for large enough, unmixed air masses to meet. Plus, we do not have the convergence of the dry polar and warm moist air like Tornado Alley has. THe mountains mix and disrupt the air masses too much.

Just worry about the earthquakes.

Be careful but tornadoes are kind of neat. It is amazing how you can always tell "tornado" weather.

it is possible. in fact in 2004 a small tornado formed over an island offshore.
