Hi Timkopo....
The problem with recovering attics is the flurry of activity by the insideous dust bunnies! And during THIS particular time of year you really need to do a bit more to protect your freshly forgiven attic! You must make every attempt possible to help your attic overcome the forlorn and hidden temptations of those maliciously multiplying db's.
Keep in mind Forgetting is not just sweeping something under the rug....it is taking it away....as far as the East is from the West and leaving it there....no need for past regrets or looking back! :)

Yes, all attics deserve second chances. You have to watch them carefully fully though. Be aware of any interest in dryer lint, open windows during outdoor construction, and offers to exfoliate psorasis patients (i.e. posted spa day signs for dry or scaly skinned folks.) Your attic will cajole, plead, and then resort to downright lying if necessary as the dust has imprinted a false sense of eurphoria into its corners and sooner or later, it will seek it out again, with or without you.
Love your attic, but choose wisely. You have to protect your investment.

As long as the attic is ready to own its responsibility for its actions. Otherwise - it might be time for some tough love and a strategically-placed phone call to "The Designer Guys."

In all honesty I quickly selected this question because I thought that it had said "Addicts". But yes if you were brave enough to venture into this normally unwelcome territory and come out the victor, then by all means forgive your former nemesis and go forth as partners with the goal to store items while remaining somewhat tidy!

Nope, that attic will fall right back into the squalor it came out of. Hopeless.

if the squalor was abject...there is no hope for a full and lasting recovery, and once dusty always dusty. It's just another layer of the attic's addiction
