clean out the bowl again, you probably didn't rinse the gravel well enough, it shouldn't be cloudy after one day...
1. get enough water in a container to fill the bowl, condition it and make sure it's the same temp as the water in the bowl.
2. fill a cup (I use the ones the betta came in) with the clean conditioned water and put the betta in it.
3. dump the water out of the bowl and put the stones ina strainer or colander.
4. run the stone in the strainer or colander under running water from your sink for a minute or so, it helps if you psuh them around with your hand.
5. rinse the bowl out and wipe it dry. add the rocks and the clean condtioned water.
6. dump the betta (and the water he's in because it's clean!) into the bowl.

this should solve the problem. get used to doing it everythree days (anything bowls under one gallon) or once a week (1 to 2 gallons). however, if you buy anything 2.5 gallons or over you can get a small fiter and a heater. thus making your betta more comfortable (should be in water temps of 78°) and your job a lot easier. anything with a filter doen't need full water changes (well really tiny ones like a 2.5gallon might need a full changing including rinsing the rock and all about once or twice a year).

good luck with your new betta! if you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them, I have 13 bettas myself, so I have a bit of experience :)

Your betta bowl does not need a filter. I have two bettas on my bathroom wall in "fish bubbles". I change the water weekly, though it could no doubt use it every 3-4 days. Each time I change the water I rinse the gravel and add conditioner. Cleaning it weekly leaves it a little cloudy toward the weekend, but very lightly noticeable (no one's ever said anything, though they have about my big tanks cloudiness). I feed them tiny ball pellets once in the morning and once in the evening, giving them between 3-5 pellets each time depending on size. But keep in mind these fish probably won't live very long anyway, but mine have actually been alive over 1 1/2 years now, though I hear that's not the standard. Good luck, you'll be fine!! Just clean their bowl and it sounds like you may have fed them too much, it took almost a week for my fish to start adjusting/eating their new food, so feed them less right now! Peace!

You do not need a filter, but should change the water every week or 2 weeks. Do not overfeed your fish, it only needs 6 -9 pellets a day, so when you feed it u can split up times, one feeding in the morning(3-5 pellets) then in the night (2-3 pellets) Make sure you rinse the gravel out well when you clean. DONT FORGET TO TAKE OUT THE FISH AND PUT IT IN A SEPERATE BOWL WITH THE SAME WATER!

You must change the water once a week and it wouldnt hurt to rinse the gravel as well. Also dont feed him so much - just jeed him as much as he will eat in a minute of so - fish do not need much food at all. Also when u change the water you can try wiping out the bowl that may help as well.

did you rinse the gravel before you put it in there?
also do not feed too much. bettas will do fine a few flakes every other day. and change the water at least once a week. you dont have to have a filter.

Yeah could be along with everything the gal before me mentioned.

Personally, I'd just go to your local store a buy a starter aquarium with a filter, light, and all the other goodies. They are around $20-30 generally.

You have to change the water once a week and also clean any plants in his tank and clean the rocks. Also if you have flake food then I would suggest feeding him every other day like a very small pinch of it. Also, if you have pellets then I suggest feeding him 3-4 pellets every other day.

in case you merely wiped clean the gravel it is going to likely be cloudy for a on a similar time as, probable even longer in a bowl with the aid of fact of no clear out. a observe of advise the heater might desire to easily be used in case you have a clear out to disperse the warmth. in the different case you have gotten a warm end of the bowl and a chilly end and tension the fish.

You might need to change the water! Or if you just got it yesterday you might need to put a little shock treatment in the water. Call the store where you bought it.
