I just moved to Katy, TX and can't believe how windy it is. Is it just bc it is March or is it always like this in the Houston area?

Except in the summer. Fall, Winter & Spring yes it is windy like this all the time. Go to Corpus Christi & U will see even stronger wind all the time except Summer. Summer in H. Town is unbelievable hot , come August You can't buy a breeze. You will come to love the fall & Spring. Winter last about 3 weeks, I saw it snow in the 70's twice & once in the late 80's but it doesn't stay cold long it warms back up fast. I lived in Baytown close to 20 years.

No, it isn't this windy normally. We've been experiencing some strange weather, but not too alien. Due to our location, the Gulf of Mexico is a great weather driver. In addition, due to our flat location, weather fronts come through like freight trains. I remember last March and it wasn't like this. Just a case of "things" happening.

It'll calm down in a few days. Then it'll get hot. Then it will be summer, where another poster mentioned "You can't buy a breeze." That's pretty true. Summers here are hot and HUMID.

Hurricanes are purely a actuality of life for everyone residing alongside the Atlantic Coast. maximum are purely slightly extra advantageous winds than common yet we get a "great one" each and every 10 years or so. We additionally get some days warning so maximum all and sundry is arranged to take a seat down it out or evacuate. I even have 2 babies additionally. We stayed for the period of hurricane Ike and lost power for roughly 8 days yet have a generator so we've been high-quality. that they had no college for that factor so they actually enjoyed it! Ike grew to become into terrible yet all and sundry pitched in, wiped clean up and have been given back to customary distinctly as we communicate. i grew to become into on Harbour Island, Bahamas for the period of hurricane Andrew and it grew to become into lots, lots worse.

While breeziness is quite regular, true wind tends to come and go. It all depends on the weather, and as they say "wait 15 minutes and it'll change!"
