My baby is 3 months old and I was going to try a different kind of bottle to see if it helps with wind...Is it worth buying a whole new set, because I forget how long they actually drink from a bottle

Your supposed to wean them from the bottle at around one year.

Most babies are bottle fed until around a year. You can start using a cup around 7 months or so, but they will still probably want a bottle in the evenings up until a year or longer (if u let them). At 3 months it might be worth investing in a new set. But first test it out to see that your baby is susceptible to it. Your baby may only want the type their on currently because not all nipples are created equal!

You might only need to change out the nipples. At three months they go to a bigger size and then at 6 months bigger. Then around 10-16 months baby should be off the bottle completely. I say 10 months because my son weened himself and was using a sippy by then.

Try "Gripe Water" before changing bottles. You can buy it at a nature store (one that sells herbal medicines. You can look in yellow pages), or you can buy it from babies "R" us. I swear by it. I didn't try the one at babies "R" us but it looks like it has the same ingredients. Mylicon drops didn't work for my son. I was told Dr. Brown's bottles are good but I didn't have to switch so I don't know.
