If by independent, you mean not wanting to be under someone's authority, then yes, one could not have the ability to be self-sufficient.

Yes, most countries exhibit this, they cannot be self sufficient, so they buy what they need from other countries and sell their goods to countries that need it.
So yes, by using a trade system it works just fine.

yes, for instance- if someone very rich who was 17, so still underage was not independent they could be self sufficient

not unless your a teenager who thinks that they are indepennt cause they can stay out after 12.
unless you are living on your own, doing all your own cleaning and cooking without accepting money from others you are not independent. if you need someone else to do these thing for you then you are dependent on them

Not to my knowledge since if you do not have the ability to rely on your own powers then you wil have to depend on someone for assistance.
