i have just done an ancestors search on my name and was horrified to find out i am a direct descendant of a bastar*d son of a viking rapist, how can i find out which scandinavian country these monsters set sail from so i can get an apology from the current government.also a large sum of compensation would go a long way to healing the anguish and pain i am going through

A country apologizing for the acts of one person several dozen years ago or more? Not totally out of the question... but asking them for money because you traced your lineage and didn't like what you found? That's totally different. No offense, but I'd be really surprised if it happened because then everyone who found an ancestor they objected to would do the same thing and point to your case in order to extort one government or another.

As a descendant of a rapist. I hope you are going to get all your capital together, and pay it as cash to the descendants of the women who were raped, by your descendant.

You could ask the government to pass laws to make sure that it happened won't happen again, and then drop the issue.

well if you just did the research then you should know.

but i get your point, its impracticle for goverments to compensate people for what happened hundreds of years ago.
