Obtain a bachelors degree in science, preferably chemistry or biology. Apply to med school, they have an exam you must pass to be accepted. If you are accepted then you go to 4 years of med school. After these 4 years you will have a number of years (2 to 6 ?) more depending upon what kind of doctor you want to be.

Well, I know this sounds stupid, but first of all you have to really want to be a doctor. Otherwise, you will probably find the work and amount of time you need to dedicate to be too much. Second, you have to like working will people, obviously. And of course, you have to be smart and hardworking.
