Ok... well I guess I've been wondering this for a long time..
But I've been afraid to ask it, cuz yes its upsetting to a lot of woman activists who say its their body, yeah right.
My question is, how come murder is definately horrible but abortion is thought by some to be "their right". It is a baby in there, just cuz you can't see it, doesn't mean its not there.
And yes I believe that if the woman is going to die from giving birth something has to be done.. but ESPECIALLY as a form of birth control, it just makes me so sick. There is always adoption centers, help centers.. all that. Abortion is NOT A BIRTH CONTROL, it is killing a baby, I don't see how anyone can just decide, "I don't want another baby, or I don't want a baby," its so sad.. :[
I mean does the guy have any say in it? Not usually.. doesn't seem right..

Aren't you glad you weren't aborted when you were a baby in your mama's tummy?

Great question. No murder should not be legal. I am betting you will get the unwanted children argument from this.

Ah yes. Well no abortion is not murder. One of the issues of course is at what point beyond mere conception, does life actually begin? And the answer is a matter of great debate.

However, the issue of when a fetus becomes human enough to survive outside of the womb is one that will be debated for a long time coming.

Those who are anti-abortion would argue that life begins at conception.

Those who are pro-abortion will argue that life becomes capable of being sentient at a certain point in time, usually 3 months or 12 weeks or a little beyond that.

So I see this as a moral issue? No. I see this as a division between religious beliefs and secular beliefs. Both of which cannot be reconciled under the Constitutional regime that requires that both viewpoints be respected, but that Congress and the States are barred from making religious laws.

So that brings us to the point of beginning.

Murder is a much more complex ideology.

I would put the shoe on the other foot and ask: " If Jesus can forgive you for getting an abortion, and the doctor for performing it; why can't we as a society forgive murderers and commute their death sentences to life without parole or pardon?" Isn't exercising the death penalty the practice of state-sanctioned murder? I answer "Yes."

Should the death penalty be legal? I answer in the framework of your question, "No."

Under your rubric, all life, including that of convicted killers on death row, is sacred.

So my answer is a question: "If all life is sacred, then in abolishing abortion, should we not abolish the death penalty?"

I canot reconcile your argument without answering your question with the foregoing question.

Jeesh, where do I begin? Murder should not be legalized. Calling abortion murder is not correct either. There are way too many people on this earth already. I feel anyway we can control the population we should do it.
In fact I believe everyone should be made sterile then be allowed to have children if they pass classes designed to help in parenting. I have seen too many children neglected that should have been aborted.

your last question is meaningless, there are days in which I wish I was not on this Earth. There are days I am embarrassed to call myself human with all the inhumanity going on these days.

Please do not associate murder to abortion. It is not the same thing. Life is not as precious as everyone thinks.

This is SUCH a HUGE issue!! I unfortunately aborted my baby when I was 19 and I am now 45. Though Jesus has forgiven because I asked Him too, Believe you me whenever these issues of 'its my body...blah, blah, blah' come up I want to just JAP-SLAP those women!!! NO IT'S NOT JUST YOU - you DO have a human in you!! I still live with that pain and probably not have forgiven myself so I can't see how women can do it without a conscience!!!! Thats what REALLY gets me INCLUDING the doctors that GIVE the operation without a conscience!!! You can't be a Christian if you think murder is OKAY!!! DUH!!! I gave up my second child (I didn't learn the first time) because I still couldn't afford to have one, but I promised God I wouldn't kill her EITHER!! Someone somewhere is enjoying her quite well! Why can't women do that????

No I am not glad my mom didn't abort me. I wish she did. I also think murder should be legal and abortion is fine. We don't need more humans on this planet.

I am reminded to call my mother and thank her for making sure I recieved an education.

Mostly this only is in issue with the young and uneducated so of course nothing is done.

State sponsored murder (the death penalty and abortion) already is legal. And yes I believe that both are wrong...

You're wasting your breath on proabortionist, the problem is we should start charging doctors and mothers that abort with murder or at least homicide.

I don't think a clump of cells counts as a baby. And sometimes even when it's developed somewhat it's still not wrong. See the story in my link there.

no, but i am not a woman, have never been raped, never abused, or the victim of incest. there cannot be a blanket ruling on abortion, but you damn well batter have a better reason than "its not the right time in my life" that is murder for convenience.
