It usually depends on how long the babysitter babysitts for.
Most of the time the average charge is five or six dollars. If you are going out for a long night say 7-11 give them about say thirty or twenty-five dollars, and extra little tip to make the babysitter want to babysit more.
Also, it depends on how many children you have and what the babysitter does. If they just change the child, put them to bed and then watch T.V. for the rest of the night you should probibally give about twenty dollars. If you have say three children, an acceptable payment would be about ten dollars a child.
If they go out for about 4 hours during the day you can have more fun and maybe take the child(ren) out to lunch or maybe to the park and charge six or seven dollaars for more activity.

I would say $10 an hour. If you are watching the child for say 2 hours, that would be $20. I think that is extremely reasonable since you are watching their "child". That is what I have charged for years, and it was never frowned apon!! Just remember that you are only worth the services that you provide. If you interact with that child, and make it fun, the parents will not put a price on care for their child.

If you're just going to be keeping an eye on and entertaining the child, than $20 for a few hours should be fine. If you're going to be required to cook for the child or if he/she has some special needs, than maybe charge around $25.

I would charge $2.00 and hour or $10.00 a day which ever is greater., however I would have them provide meals for the child if not I would take that into consideration also.

It depends on where you are located, but $20-$25 is probably appropriate.
