my guess is you have a defective mouse, either that or you have some startup programs that are making your cpu freeze. try shutting down some of these programs, you might need any of them to begin with. see what happens. my guess is that some program is conflicting with resources that the mouse uses and is causing the pc to crash.

JH is right, but generally, hangs and freezes are commonly caused by bad or outdated video drivers. In this case, I would also check for newer mouse driver also.

You need to offer more details if you want assistance. What program are you running? What do you mean by "hangs"? Do you see an hourglass?
