Reading the instructions closely should have shown that the conditioner would probably change the color of the glove. The color will make no difference to your ability to field with it.

The problem is that you put the conditioner on in the first place. Conditioners and glove oils (like Neet's Foot Oil) are for protecting the leather and do nothing good for breaking in a glove. At this time of the year (baseball & softball season) you should break the glove in by using it or placing a ball in the pocket of the glove and tying it tight when not in use. The conditionors and oils can make the glove too soft for use and will wreck the ball when the excess gets on the ball.

Use the conditioners and oils only at the end of the year to protect the leather during the dry winter months. Good Luck this year.

It sounds like you didn't follow the directions properly. Remember the color of a glove doesn't mean a thing, but it sounds like the texture and firmness may have been affected. Read back through the conditioner directions and then if you followed it properly contact that company, not the glove company. That sucks. If all of that fails I would try another type of glove jelly or conditioner and bake it in the oven. If you get the feel of it back great, don't worry about the color. Worry about how you use the glove
