My husband and I are disagreeing about the song "Blue" recorded by Leann Rimes in the late 90's. I say that the song was originally written for Patsy Cline but she never recorded it. My husband said that Patsy Cline did sing it and that Leann Rimes covered it. Is either of us right? Can you please provide a link?

I wasn't sure about the answer, but I thought you were correct. I have attached a link that provides a list of all the songs that Patsy recorded. It doesn't say whether or not it was written for her or not so you may not be 100% correct but she never recorded it. I hope that you get a steak dinner or something out of this.

All the websites I've looked at don't give out if the song was written for Pasty Cline or not, but it was not sang by her. Bill Mack wrote the song in the 1960's and LeAnne Rimes was the first to sing it.

it was written for Patsy, but she died before she could record it. They held the song for years until they decided LeAnn could do the song justice. Your right.
