I read some of what he wrote, and was surprised to find he had rather unreconstructed views about women, thinking them only suited to carry out traditional womens' roles in the revolutionary movement.
In other words he was an MCP and didn't impress me very much. Not the sort of thing you expect from a hero of the left.
