My ex boyfriend told me he loved me, but never showed it. He did things to show otherwise. That's why he's my ex.
My fiance of over 3 years says he loves me and I believe him. That's because he does things that show it. He buys me flowers, opens my car door, holds my hand, etc.
From my experience, if someone doesn't do things to support the claim of love, then it really isn't love.
Oh, and ignore the advice to just have sex with him. While women express love through sex, Men just wanna have sex.

The point is that you really don't love him or else you would know. You don't test love. All that happens is you find out that you are weak for doubting. If you doubt him You are not in love.

Sex is NOT proof of love. All you can do is take him at his word. Perhaps his idea of showing it is not your idea of how he should show it. You start getting too demanding about it and you might end up without the only one who ever will love you.

His actions. Talk is cheap... it depends what he antes up. I'm not talking about being super affectionate or romantic, but are you a priority in his life? Can you count on him? Does he treat you with respect? If it's "no" to any of these, it doesn't matter *what* he says.
