Advertise all over town ,post office its been my best .grocery store's ,pass the word around ,make sure you have first puppy shot's ,and wormed ,and a clean bill of health from the vet ,don't take check's ,cash only .
Go to big stores ,like pet-co ,or pet's and critter's .
they very willing to purchase from you ,just set your price ,because they double their money .i sell mine for 300.00 they turn around and sell it for 650.00 .i breed toy Chihuahuas.

Where did you get "your AKC puppy"? If you bought it from a breeder, a good one will require that you return the dog to him/her. A bad one won't really care, so next time, locate and use a good breeder.
At this point, you can try to place it on petfinder.com in the classified section. You can try an ad in the paper, but this is where puppy mills and backyard breeders sell their puppies. If you care most about placing him in a good home, give him to sheltie rescue. They will find a good home for him and will promise to care for him for the rest of his life if he ever comes back.

I have sold many AKC puppies, and the best place is through the largest local paper. Internet ads never paid off, and everyone reading trade publications already has puppies they want to get rid of. I also have had success putting up flyers at pet shops and grocery stores. But the newspaper always worked best.

Put an ad in your local paper. I always get good results with the paper. Just make sure it is long enough to cover the Sunday paper. You will get most of your calls then.
