We're going on holiday and were wondering if anyone has had some good/bad experiences to share. Any suggestions about tours, clubs, places to visit (or not to visit)? Anyone stayed in the Fragrance Hotel Emerald?

Fragrance Hotel Emerald is a nice hotel, mid-range in price, cosy.
There are a range of shopping centre from the very expensive to the cheaper ones. Expensive - Orchard Road (dozens of them), Vivo City. Cheaper ones - Chinatown, Bugis, Marina Square. (btw, expensive is a relative term. Prcies are about one third of that of New York, Paris or London).
Good food - almost everywhere. Best around Clark Quay, Boat Quay areas.
Places of interest - Singapore Bird Park (world renowned), Sentosa (island resort for swimming, Butterfly park, aquarium etc), Singapore History Museum (must go), Singapore Zoological Gardens. Tours available from most hotels.

Singapore is great city to experience. You should have a drink at the Long Bar in the Raffles Hotel, it's where the Singapore sling was invented. The shops at Clark Quay (pronounced key) has alot to do or you can explore the east end of the island, great seafood restaurants. Be warned that everything in Singapore is very expensive.

yes i do. i went there last summer. Singapore is a very clean city, but i love hong kong as its even more fascinating. i will suggest u going to santosa, its a nice place to visit. they got bunch of nice shopping malls and clubs too. there is a night safari park as i far as i remember, that sucks, dun go. the reason is it opens at night only but u can see nothing there. nothing. so dun waste your money going there. also i think it will be cool to dine out in some local restaurants. yummmmmmy. wish you a great trip!

Haha I live in Singapore. These are the highlights (in my opinion)
1) sentosa
its an island connected to singapore. fun for beach, swimming, picnicing etc. has underwater world, butterfly site, dolphin lagoon etc etc.
2) vivo city
largest shopping mall in singapore. many nice brands like topshop, forever21, zara, esprit, warehouse.. etc. good for dining as well.
3) bugis street
best shopping place, able to bargain. things are REALLY cheap there.
4) singapore zoological gardens
it's world renowned. really fun place.
5) singapore bird park
it's world renowned. really fun place.
6) duck tours
it's a tour thing. it's fun. travels by bus + boat + air (hot air balloon, but stays in one spot only. good view of singapore)
7) orchard road
most famous road of shopping. large stretch of shopping centres.
8) wild wild wet
quite fun. it's like a water theme park.

I have been there twice and I loved it. The cleanest city I have ever visited.The people are friendly and there is plenty of sightseeing. Orchard Road has all the big stores, nightclubs, and restaurants. Great seafood! You will have a great time!

yes i did before but i will never go there again.the place is nice but their peoples is very arrogant not very friendly like its neighbours(thailand,malaysia etc).one more singapore is not good place for family vacation.
