Why does this question keep getting asked over and over. Is the publics grasp of government and laws so bad they do not understand what it takes to impeach someone?

The President has not committed an impeachable offense. If he had the proceeding would already be under way. Now quit asking, unplug your computer and go outside in the sunshine.

I seen on TV last night that his own party wants him impeached, he has to be stopped but when it comes to a vote the Republican party are hoping he will resign. That will never happen , but I voted for Impeachment before he ever took that oath in 2000. I lived in Texas and the true George Bush was a terrible Governor. He came in behind Ann Richardson and the budget was in the black it didn't take him but a little while and he had Texas in the red. When he left Texas it was a blessing for that state but a terrible injustice to America.

Because if Bush is successfully impeached (brought charges against by Congress) and removed (found guilty by Courts), Dick Cheney would be President.

Because he didn't. End of story. Actually, it isn't the end of the story -- the President is under no duty to tell the truth; he is only under duty to protect and defend the Constitution. It is possible that to do so might on occasion require skirting the truth.

You people are ridiculous.

With all of Congress's frantic searching recently, don't you think that they would have impeached him by now if he has committed an impeachable offense?

Even if there was something that he did that was illegal, they still couldn't impeach without incriminating themselves as well. Don't forget that many Democrats voted for Iraq too.

Lying to the public is not an impeachable offense. Lying under oath to a federal grand jury is.

Because he didn't lie to the public. I know you think he lied about weapons of mass destruction, but if that's the case, so did Hillary, and Bill, and Madeline, and Janet, and any congressman who voted for war.

THe intelligence report clearly stated that Saddam had chemical and biological weapons, and guess under what category those fall under. Mr. Clinton said in 1998 that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and that we had to liverate Iraq. Everyone applauded him, and he did nothing about it.
