before spending money on a new one..try removing the battery and let it sit out for 24-48 hours to completely dry..this happened to one of my friends and her phone is fine now.

i've worked for verizon for 4 years and pretty much everyday someone will come in with a water damaged phone. water does really weird things to your phone. i had a lady come in once and she accidentally washed her phone in the WASHING MACHINE............and miraculously the phone kept working after about a week (apparently after the water dried out). that was a RARE case though. on the other hand, most people that come in they might've knocked over a glass of water and it got soaked and the phone is completely fried (in the inside) and no way of repairing the phone.

basically, there's really no way of predicting if it will work or not. just let it dry for a couple days. you'll probably see the inside of the screen getting foggy. so really the only thing you can do now is to wait to see if it will work.

oh and that thing about soaking in alcohol or putting it in a bag of rice is total BS. they're either really dumb or just messing around with you.

sexy lissa's idea might work too. key word being MIGHT. no harm in trying though. phones have a 1 yr warranty, 2 if you have the extended warranty, and you can take it to the tech department and just play dumb. just tell them that something is wrong with your phone but you dont know what happened. they'll swap it out for FREE if there is no evidence of liquid damage but most phones have a water damage indicator (usually under the battery) and if that indicator is "bleeding", it tells the techs that there is water damage. i've seen alot of times though if the liquid damage was very little, it does not affect the indicator so i've seen people getting away with getting replacment phones even though it was their fault.

Had the same problem i know from personal experience heat (hair dryer) doesn't work. the best thing is to take off the battery cover and let it dry while looking for a new phone.

Pour some rice in a zip lock bag and put your phone in there over night. The rice will absorb the water from the phone.

I've heard soaking it in alchohol, then letting it dry MAY work, but you'reprobably out of luck
