IQ and intelligence completely differ from wisdom. Wisdom, to me, is life experience you gain along the way. You can be born intelligent, but not wise. As far as IQ goes, thats just a stupid test smart people can brag about.

Wisdom is gained through understanding of your surroundings. Intelligence is understanding of surroundings that you already have at birth. Your IQ can get higher and so can your wisdom. IQ isn't exactly what you know it is how you have come to know what you do.

IQ or intelligence is merely a tool. Wisdom is knowing how to positively use that tool.
Example, Hitler, Stalin and my ex were all intelligent but they did not use that intelligence in a wise way.

Nope. I have a really high IQ but I wouldn't say I'm all knowing or incredibly wise. IQ isn't a measure of what you know, but rather of how fast your mind works. People with high IQs find it easier to learn things and to work out logical puzzles but they don't necessarily know more than anyone else.

i think so, wisdom is said to come from life experience, but in order for someone to process that information, as in work out what they have done wrong/right and learn from their mistakes they need to be fairly intelligent.
As you will notice some people just go round and round in circles through life never improving there situation, where as some people choose to grow as people.
I think you need to be analytical and have balanced mind to have true wisdom.

I think it'd have to be common sense, but I suppose an IQ needs something like common sense... I do suspect that it has nothing to do with intelligence though, because some of the smartest people I know are just so daft!

Not really. Wisdom relates more to experience from trial and error.
You can still be intelligent, and know alot of facts, but not know how to apply them.
