Try going without it or cutting back on the amount for a while. I used to be the same way, had to have a carbonated drink with every meal, snack, etc. I scaled way back and replaced the carbonated drinks with non-carbonated ones. Now I drink mostly tea, water, and occasionally diet soda - can't kick it completely, I like the stuff. I also have noticed that I feel alot better inside when I drink more water and less carbonation.
Good luck & take care!

I too love carbonation there is just something about the burn, ahhhh... Anyways I hear ya I also love diet sodas, they may not have any sugar but they do have a lot of Sodium.
Sodium = water weight gain = Bloating
I enjoy the flavored sparkling waters, they have 0 calories,
0 sugar and 0 Sodium
Depending on where you live the brands will vary. I love the Safeway Brand Sparkling Waters, the Strawberry Watermelon is my favorite, I like to put it in the freezer and get it nice and icy like a slushy- Yum!

Well if you drink diet it won't effect your waist line, and carbonation is not really a bad habit, it is not harmful to your body. I am kind of the same way. I like to drink carbonated drinks when I eat, I don't like water or teas with food. In my mind it makes my food digest better. It is just a matter of taste and pallette.
It won't kill you, so don't worry about it unless you go to regular soda more then diet. Try carbonated water too, its just as good as regular water, but gives you that fizzyness your pallette is craving.

Any addiction is hard. I too was a Pepsi-aholic, every morning contained a Pepsi and at least two cans before lunch. I started having back problems and immediately stopped drinking them, but even if you have no pains now, you will. I started drinking pure water. Hard, yes, but worth it. I have been Pepsi free for about 3 months and its not that hard, its really a head game. (I even tried to cheat and drink a soda and it tasted awful.)

Just keep always some Cardamom, dry-ginger and black pepper in your pocket and try to chew any of the same and you will definitely kick of your dangerous addiction of carbonation as you have coined it!!!!!!

Why bother. Stick with diet and you really have little to worry about. Compared to the other two, this might cost you a fortnight over a lifetime. No bother!
