Why is it important for Black Americans to re-build a sense of community that transcends socio-economic boundaries? What can be done to connect the fragmentations we have allowed to divide our race? What are some of the characteristics of a growing and thriving community? How can on-line social networking platforms such as HBCU Connect, Facebook and MySpace best serve to aid in establishing the community that closely mimics the natural communities to which we were accustomed to growing up?

no technology can replace the loss that was suffered by these people.

it is said that "those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it". the atrocities done to these people and others who were annihilated or enslaved in history is unforgettable. that is not to say that one must live in the past but one must never forget either.

as for the social structure of today, common courtesy is an implement that surpasses so many barriers. it need only be exercised as example of how you need, want or desire to be addressed.
