My 38 year sister is now 5 months pregnant. She switched birth control pills 5 months ago and didn't use a back up. So now she is expecting. I would be very careful if I were you because it can happen.

yep. It happened to me! I was taking orthotricyclin and had stopped having periods all together! I went to see my doctor and she told me the hormone does was too high for my system. So, she switched me to orthotricyclin-lo. I took my first pill pack of my low-does pill and at the end of that month I had TERRIBLE cramps that I hadn't experienced at all since I had started using birth control (should have been a warning sign!) the next month...no period! I was perplexed, but I bought a HPT and low and behold...it was positive! Looking back, I should have known better and used a back up form of birth control during the first month after the switch...but I just wasn't thinking lol.

And let me just add that my husband and I are TRILLED to have our son in our lives and he is the best thing that ever happened to us :)

I think as long as you maintain the schedule of pills (3 wks on 1 wk off) you SHOULDN'T have a problem. I have been on just about every pill trying to find the right one for me. And I have not gotten pregnant by accident.
