shaving too often can do this. You don't want to shave over stubble until your skin gets used to being shaved and alway shave against your hair. Use good lube too lol lube. . . not the right word. Anyway like shaving gel or hair conditioner works good too. I know it sounds crazy but it does. Also you're going to laugh but it's the best thing you can do. . . go to like Wal-Mart and get a womens waxing kit . . .if you are shy have a friend do it or your g/f in this kit you'll find a lotion for after you wax. It works wonders for shaving too! Trust me!

I don't know if you're a boy or a girl, but I'm a girl and will answer as such. I get the irritation sometimes too, but to a much lesser extent when I shave frequently, like 3-4 times a week. The skin down there is sensitive, and shaving, no matter how sharp or dull the razor, will irritate it. There are potions and creams you can try, there is one they sell at beauty supply stores, like Sally's, that comes in a brown bottle and smells putrid, (I forget the name) but it works. I find for myself just keeping the skin shaved regularly doesn't cause much, if any irritation after a while, and it also eliminates most if not all of the itchiness.

You might really be getting razor bumps. Basically what happens is when you use a really sharp razor that shaves really close (are you using a mach3 or fusion?) the hair is clipped so short that when it starts to regrow, it actually gets stuck growing back down into the skin (this all happens under the skin). This is basically a tiny little irritation/infection.
Use bacitraciin zinc ointment or neosporin or any other similar product right after you shave. Or better yet get the Bodygroom by norelco and just trim that stuff.

I am a man so I can speak from that point of view. You have to treat your genitals nice, so follow a plan for pucbic shaving. I think you should definetly start with a hot shower to open up the pores and use a quality shaving cream that soften the hairs while at the same time provides nutrients to lessen the effects of shaving. Here are great tips on pubic shaving I found on the web that might help complement the answers:

You probably have sensitive skin. Why not trim your pubic hair instead of shaving?
