Recently I was at a party where drugs were being passed out. someone gave me a baggie with white powder in it - someone had given it to her too. I didn't want it so I gave it to these 2 girls I knew a little bit. they went outside and took the drugs. I don't know how they took them. one died a few minutes after she took them, and the other is still in the hospital on life support. the police and detectives (I guess) were there for hours. they took me to the police station and called my dad who had to pick me up because I'm a minor. my question - with everyone passing around drugs, can I be arrested for what happened? I already told the police I gave them drugs that someone gave me but I didn't want. I actually been through something similar before and didn't get arrested. But this time seems different.

its a tough one. you were not caught selling or distributing per se, but a good enough lawyer may bring you on criminally negiligent homicide or manslaughter for giving her the drugs regardless. Being a minor is your only good aspect right now, you need to volunteer to take a drug test to prove to the court that you are not user and you made a mistake by giving the drugs to your friends rather than destroying them.

Unfortunately drugs seem to be commonplace where you live, to the point of passing a baggie around like a hot potato until someone is stupid enough to actually take the contents and use them. Unfortunately for you two people were seriously affected, and what happened to you is like the oldest line in the book, so don't expect the police to believe you. In your case being minor does not excuse your behavior because in the first place you know what that stuff is and what it does. I hope this really makes you meditate on where you stand and if this is the life you want for yourself.

You are in a lot different circumstance this time. Someone died and another is hanging on.

Giving another person drugs for any reason is unlawful.

They do have the option of filing formal murder charges in one form or another against you and if the second person dies as well, I hate to say it but they may want to charge you as an adult and that would really be bad for you.

You should have just flushed the drugs, but, that's just what I have done in my younger days. It really upsets everyone when I did it, but, I felt better. They got the idea I don't do them.

Have a long, very long talk with your parents and prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

You will be prosecuted for this, as a death is involved. I suggest that you talk to the D.A and make a plea bargain. I'd settle for possession of drugs with intent to distribute, and involuntary man slaughter........5 years probation, 15 years all but 30 days suspended, along with restitution to the families, and community service. I suggest that you put on your very best remorse face, and strat speaking to adolescents and young adults about the dangers of drugs. You might even be able to get an attorney to help you get the manslaughter charges dropped if you truly are remorseful for your part in this. I am sorry that you have found yourself in this mess, what a tragedy for everyone involved!

you passed them on so you're liable - as are your parents because you're a minor.

If you didn't want them, you should have flushed them, not passed them on.

If it happened before, no deaths, perhaps you shouldn't go to those parties. You hang around with criminals, sooner or later you're going to get caught in the same net. You got caught sooner.

You'd better get an attorney and hope that you get off and that the families of the deceased don't sue your parents.

You can expect to go to Prison as an Accessory to Murder because you passed the bag to the girls.

This looks just like another of your fake questions; It seems you have a lot of free time.

I would not be on Yahoo answers with this one, I would call an attorney... You are talking involuntary manslaughter here...

My advise would be to stop going to parties like this. If you don't want to be in these type of situations, don't put yourself in them.
