I am newly married and love my wife....how do I reduce temptation?

I really love my wife and she's amazing...but temptations of other women haunt me daily. I try to reduce it by walking away or ignoring them...but later I can't stop thinking about it and say "I could have had that!" Then I get home to my wife and I forget about it...but it's all right back again the next day...I know this is normal...and it's so hard to turn away these other beautiful women...how can I get rid of these feelings? I feel as if I'm not being loyal just having these thoughts and I feel terrible...what can I do to stop this????

I work in an environment where I'm surrounded by dozens of women everyday...I never realized how flirtatious women can be until you're around them all day every day. I would like to think I would never cheat on my wife, but often times I have wondered "what a score that would be". But then I think of my gorgeous wife and realize I have already made the best score of them all. Temptation is hard to resist no matter if you've been married a day, week, or 50 years. The question is, how to reduce the temptation of doing things with other women?

There is nothing you can do to stop temptation. Talking to your wife would be one way to reduce it. Just communicate with her and make sure she knows what's going on, she might have some good insight.

Also, fantasize. It may sound crazy, but if you fantasize about other people every once in a while, it will keep your mind clear of what you really want.

Nobody is immune to attraction, and unlike some people believe, when you get married it doesn't just disappear. Just be sure of what you want.

Becareful not to want your cake and eat it too. You already have what you want most at home, and you said she is amazing. The best way to fend off temptation is to think my wife is going to dump me like a hot potato, if I don't get these devilish thoughts out of my mind, if she ever knew she might dump you just for all this lusting of others. Feel terrible, and never act on them thoughts, you owe her at least that much, and if you feel the devil has got you by the balls, let her go, don't cheat, she will respect you more if you let her go, then if you violated her trust. Don't be foolish, an amazing woman like her come far in few, the other women have only looks, and looks are only a small piece of the whole package.

The only way to deal with this is keep telling yourself that you are married to the most beautiful wife in the world. Look at your wedding ring for a reminder of who you are married to. Turn away from temptation when it first happens. It is all about controlling your thoughts. Are you strong enough to control your thoughts?

Looking at other women, you are already lusting in your heart. If you can put that in your mind, hopefully you will think only about your wife.

Acually no, it's not normal. Looking is normal, but having recurring thoughts of other women isn't. Are you really turning them away or do you just have thoughts? I find it hard to believe dozens of beautiful women are throwing themselves at you on a daily basis.

its normal. just dont act on it. make sure you carry a pic of your wife in your wallet so when you do feel tempted you can have your wife right by your side and rid the temptations

Maybe try thinking about how great your wife is when you look at them. And say "wow look at that red head, I could do that... but my wife has better legs, why would I settle for that?" And keep on walking.
