With my wife I think it has more to do with the culture in which she was raised. Girls are given much more freedom to be child-like; they grow up spending so much time thinking about idealistic marriage, romance, basically thinking about "true love" and everyday being Valentine's Day on crack.
But there is also a biological component in women that specifically bonds them to a guy.

Women are suckers for love because they have been conditioned to seek it at all costs. Ever notice that almost all dating guides are directed at women, and that women's magazines are filled to the brim with relationship advice? It's all part of a grand, centralized "couplehood machine." Only when a woman realizes this can she stop pining for love.

Giggly G: I once had a very 'friendly' relationship with a promiscuous married (she likes variety) woman. I observed the last time she 'visited' that she had just prior (week before) 'imprinted' with the next 'extra'. Something about switching the energy. I'm not your typical male densoid. But, it made me seriously re-think relationships. Looking always for a harder and longer --- ended in disaster. BTW: that one is also severely bipolar and was abused as a young girl.

Yes, women are more emotional than men. They love the feel of a relationship. It's the oestrogen.
I have to say that a lot of the time women have more emotional smarts than men. Some guys will do whatever a beautiful women tells them, which ends up ruining their chances with her in teh first place.

It might be something in the brain -- more then likely it is.... But I know a lot of men who are "suckers" for love too and women who aren't.

Yes, there is a chemical that is produced after having sex which makes us like baby ducks and we "imprint" onto the man.
I'll try to look it up, saw it in a "Sex & the City" episode & Wiki confirmed it ... also Jane Fonda mentioned it ... but I don't quite remember ... anyways, give me time, and I should be able to edit this answer with more 411.

It is something in our brains, otherwise we wouldn't need or want a man, silly!

Because men are lying, manipulating sh*ts who are only after one thing, and they use women's unlimited compassion against them.
