Because with time they have learned that life is not easy, and sometimes to get ahead in life you have to be somewhat of an a** doesn't mean they are selfish, but looks like they are. OR there are those people that are just plain selfish, because they did not have good parents, and were thought to only think of themselves.

It is within our sinful nature. Unless we are born again through Christ, we would not learn to be caring for others for the glory of God that is not for our own glory. We all might live under the same sky but we dont see the same horizon. So we arent all disciplined the same. I try to make a difference and so could you.

i wouldn't consider myself, selfish at all...most of the decisions i make are for other people's benefits...rarely does the phrase "Lookin out for No.1" refer to me, maybe you just don't know that many good people.

There's no logical explanation. We just are, and always will be. There isn't ONE person out there who has never been (or who never will be) selfish in their lives.....
It's like asking: In verbs, why do we add an "s" when we refer to he/she. Ex. I drink, you drink, he/she drinkS.
There's no logical explanation, that's just how it is.
