In my Samsung Combo DVD Reader + CD Reader/Writer DVDs are not being read although CDs are working properly. I mean although light blinks on inserting DVD but neither DVD is working nor there is any noice of running of DVD. Can anyone help me by explaning the problem & sorting the way out to cure this problem

You did not say if these are commercial DVDs or copied ones. Or if they are movies or data. Go to the samsung website and get the latest firmware to flash your drive, it may not be recognizing that brand of DVD. You can also try uninstalling the DVD drive and then reinstalling it. It could be your device driver is acting up. Combo drive have 2 different lasers... 1 for CDs and the other for DVDs. If it's an older drive it could be the one laser is bad or misaligned.
