I do not have a wireless provider now but the MacBook has a built in wireless card (still no provider) so when I'm at home I just piggy-back someone elses service like linksys. I have called sprint, cingular & even radio shack but they all say I have to run windows. I don't have nor do I want windows on my mac. Also, because the card is built in... I don't have a slot for a card... just a USB port. Is there anyone out there that truly knows Mac? Please help. Oh, yeah & I want to be completely portable. Thanks One more thing... It's not a MacBook Pro... it's just a MacBook.

But when I'm at work & surrounded by businesses with secure networks it doesn't work. I guess I'm stuck with $$$$ verizon.
Thanks anyway.

She's right. You can set up a high-speed modem and a router for your Mac. That's your only option besides Broadband ($$$!!!). MacBook Pros have an ExpressCard expansion slot, but not the MacBooks.

A modem and router will be fine.

You can use any provider. The linksys is a router. You can buy a wireless router with any service and use that.
