Let us assume that nothing exists. Then I who am conscious that nothing exists must exist. Therefore I exist.

Descartes send it best - "I think therefore I am"

If my existence is an illusion. . .Then whose dream am I in? My own? God? My dogs?

Is my existence just merely a by-product of the biological functions of my brain?

No. . . I think I'll follow Descartes words. Since I can ponder the uninponderable then I must exist.

I don't, but my sense of reality (notice I said MY, not anyone else's') tells me that I exist. There is no evidence to tell me for certain, but my mind and my life (or what my mind's illusion tells me is my life). Reality, in a sense, is nonexistent. Why? Because everyone's mind perceives a different reality.

Because you do computations. You process some information, so you have to exist. Now, what form do you exist in? No idea.

Descartes "Cogito ergo sum" ie "I think therefore I am"

Before him, Augustine, if I doubt then I must exist, for if I do not exist, then how could I doubt my own existence.

I can prove to me that I exist, but I will never be able to prove to you that I exist.

Well, even if life is an illusion,we still exist.Existence pertains to being here(whatever "here" is).We are here. Some quantum physicists will say that we are not only here but all over the place. We are still here.

"I think there for I am" or in laymans terms: "Im exist because I said so Dammit!" Try this, poke yourself with a needle and see if it hurts. if the pain is real you must be inorder to feel it.

I know this has been said before but....."i think therefore i am"....its self explanatory.....because you are able to think...because you are even able to question your existence you in fact exist......because you are able to rationalize and come up with thought provoking questions........and...um..yeah...etc.
