Hitler I believed played the infamous video game called Grand Theft Israel and that was what caused his hatred of the jews and wanted to start his Aryan Race crusade. Oh no, wait! That was because he read writings and books of Aleister Crowley is how he found out about the Aryan Race and why he did what he did in a whole. Not games. Maybe Frank and Jesse James played a lot of western video games and decided they wanted to go around and do what they did. Oh wait, no video games back in that era either. Stalin might of played a game where he would sign over 800 death warrants before bed and when he woke up in the morning over 800 peasants in Russia countryside would be dead as he chose the night before. No games back then either? See my point here? There has always been violence and monstrosities throughout history and video games are to be blames as violent comic books were blamed in the 19050s and rock and roll music was blamed throughout the decades for troubled youth. Maybe if parents were parents and actually involved themselves with their children's lives and paid attention and taught some moral and values. Maybe, just maybe, there would be less troubled youth nowadays. That goes for children. Now there will always be a bad apple in the bunch. For adults, maybe they should start taking responsibility for their actions and face the consequences. But no, instead, the violent games I played made me do what I did. Couldn't be the drugs or alcohol taken during the said time of bad decisions. Really, news story over in UK where the game Manhunt was blamed for one person shooting another. When a week later it turned out to be the person shot the other over payment on drugs. What about violent novels and movies? More kids see those than they do violent games. This could go on and on, I am sure you have enough up there to soak in go find some more examples for yourself.

hhhmmmm, thats a very controversial issue. Look it up around google and stuff for like politicians like Hiliary Clinton and some other guy stopping video game violence.
To me personally, when you have a game that can make a kid hurt another person, yes it does. That only occurs alot if the PARENT or the kid him/herself does not have control of themselves and play 8 hours a day playing counter strike or Day of Defeat, they might visualise themselves holding a gun shooting people.
But, since you named "video games" (now thats all the video games out there like Mario, Need for Speed, Battlefield 2, Age of Empires, Bubble Bubble, Flight Simulator X, etc.) Only some do, you never see a person who played Flight Simulator X everyday hurt people. You only hear about the crazy ones who get too into the game Grand Theft Auto/ Postal 2 they believe their one of the characters.
Playing games like BattleField 2 and Americas Army only influence others and give them strong feelings to join the military. Same with racing, refines your skills in driving but my brother says arcade games like "Initial D" "Battegear 3" and the other ones never gives you the realistic feel of driving a real car.
S*** if you play Wrestmania (I didn't back then with my buddy, and watched wrestling) your more likely to imitate those wrestling moves even though little kids never believe it is all choreographed (all planned out)
when you play a fighting game (when your kids/adult) you might what to try those moves, why cause they look cool right. Getting out of a head lock and pick up the dudes leg to drop him on the ground, I never did that stuff tho. Just play more strategy or first person shooter games, lol

No, if you like to watch murder movies, does that make you a killer? If you read a book in which somebody gets in a fight, does that make you want to sucker punch your librarian?
To really stick it into your friend, bring up the fact that the BIBLE is more violent then most games. Go ahead, read that 2000-page sleeping pill, you'd be amazed at how disgusting it really is. No better way to get Atheists then to read that thing.

The short of it? No. Artificial stimuli does not alter the personality of an individual; violent people are violent by nature, with our without video games. In many ways, video games can help vent the frustrations of angry or violent people.
