I know am good at my job everyone can tell, especially after being selected out of a big group to move to a higher position before this boss joined the department. Initially she promised to pay me double the salary, and it's been a year and she did not fight enough for me to upper managment. I told her about receiving other job offers inorder to get her move on, but she just said do what suits you, It's not in my hands. I noticed that all the new employees received the new salary I was promised, and she is not welling to do anything. I like my new position, the holidays and the fllexibility, but not the pay. That is the only reason I remain there. What can I do to change the situation?

She's either threatened by you or has taken a dislike to you.

Either way, as long as she's your boss you're probably stuck going no where fast for less money than you're worth.

There are other jobs, go find one that pays what you're worth and allows for advancement.

Also, go to your previous manager and get a reference from them, rather than your new one. It's not likely to reflect your true abilities, if she gives one at all.

Accept that you can't change the situation or leave. The writing is all over the wall. When you told your boss about other offers and she said, "Do what suits you", she was basically telling you to take it. Others got the salary increase but you didn't (so she obviously can 'fight enough', she just didn't for you).

If you need the flexibility (kid issues, school, etc.), then maybe you should stay. But personally I'd leave; the resentment would eat away at me until I hated my job.

Sounds like you need to have a talk with the boss. Tell her what you've said here. Behave in a humble, concerned way, not pushy or demanding. Say you love your job, ask if there's anything wrong or any way she'd like you to improve or change. Give her a chance to explain what's going on, without mentioning other job offers (which may sound like a threat or an ultimatum), and hopefully she'll be honest with you.

Maybe you should go to upper management and ask
for the raise! If your boss isn't being cooperative in
giving a raise or reason for not giving you a raise,
go over her head. I know sometimes that does give
bad feelings from the boss but if they aren't be fair,
you have to do what is beneficial to you.

I would talk to someone that is in a higher position than her. And explain what has happened and what you should do. Also explain that you really enjoy working there and you would like to know if there is someone going to take your place. If that doesnt work Strike LOL

Too late. She knows you lied about the other job offers. And have you ever heard about the Peter Principle? It says: "In a hierarchy every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence." In her mind, that's where you have arrived.
