I am 38 weeks pregnant and I don't feel the baby kick, but I still usually feel her push. I know this part is normal. Well, I am not really feeling her push now. I think she is still doing it because I see little bumps pushing out now and then, but I don't feel them like I use to. Is this normal too, I know she is running out of room, but I worry.

Feeling relieved. Felt her on my left side resting now she is on my right. Even though I didn't feel her move, at least now I know she did. :)

It's normal. I remember the last few weeks of my first pregnancy, my son would barely move at all, and then he would go through a few hours in a day where he moved like crazy to the point where it hurt me.

I'm almost 32 weeks now, with my second, and her movements have slowed down a little. As long as she moves a couple of times an hour, I try not to worry. If you are concerned, though, do your kick counts. Drink something cold, and then lay on your left side. The baby should move at LEAST five times in two hours. As long as he/she is moving more than that, you're okay.

Relax! You're almost done!

Right now there is nothing to worry about, its when you don't feel the baby move for like 24 hours that you should call the doctor and then they may tell you to wait a bit longer. Its normal with my daughter she would somersault and then one day she just didn't move at all except for a little here and there but the doctor told me to relax and that it was normal. If you are still worried about it , it never hurts to call your doctor and simply ask them. It will put your mind at ease and they are use to it.

TEN GROWTH MILESTONES AT THIRTY-FIVE TO THIRTY EIGHT WEEKS
Wow! It's almost time, to greet baby into her new world. What is happening now?

Baby weighs from 6 to 7 ½ pounds.
She measures 18 to 20 inches.
This is her "finishing" stage, and baby gains a tremendous amount of subcutaneous fat, filling him out for birth.
The lanugo hair has disappeared.
Some of the vernix caseosa has disappeared, and it seems that just enough of this cheesy substance remains to lubricate him for a smoother passage during birth.
By this time baby has pretty much run out of room and is tucked up like a little ball. kicking is pritty much impossibul.
During the final weeks inside the womb, baby sucks, swallows, breathes, and blinks.
He steps, turns his head, and sucks his thumb.
He grasps and clasps his hands, practicing all the movements he will need after he makes his appearance in the world.
The air sacs of his lungs are now lined with a substance called surfactant, that keep the lungs expanded after each breath, enabling nearly all babies born at this stage (even early in this stage) to breathe air outside the womb.

it is normal for the movemnet to be limited the further along you get because the baby has less room to move. the rule of thumb is you need to feel the baby move at least once an hour and if your not feeling this you need to call your dr

She needs to rest for delivery, if you are really worried, you can drink a sweet juice, lay down and await the acrobat display :) for me I had an orange Julius from the mall..... my daughter didn't stop moving for 12 hours...

You can also take a regular stethescope and listen for your babies hearbeat, or just call your doctors office, they expect calls like that and can squeeze you in for a quickie visit.

i would consult the doctor. i felt movement up until the day i gave birth but that does not mean that there is something wrong with your baby. don't worry call the doctor and see what he has to say good luck.

That happened to me around 35 weeks. I got scared and went to the doctor, he put me on a monitor and gave me some orange juice and before you know it she started moving around! Everything came out fine!

sounds like someone is getting into position to be born!

baby's movements will slow down as she heads down into your pelvis and gets ready to come out ;)

plus she is bigger now so she doesnt have as much room to twirl and flip.
