I think it is a new type of coursework, because I never done it in school. Basically I have a budget of £45 per week and I have to devise the best form of travel (cheapest), how many miles I will cover etc. Also I have to take tempertures into account and all other various things to do with the chosen holiday. But again where to start?

You might want to look at how far you can go by train, bus, car on 45. Train and bus are easy just look at what distance you can go for that fare. For car you need mile per liter. DA

Simple. You pick a Point A (starting point), and Point B (holiday destination).

Look up fares for modes of travel:train, bus, plane, ride-share. Then calculate gas milage. Also, include stops for food and drink and give the price for those items(incidentals) an average. Add that average price to the length of time you are in transit. For example, a bus might take twice as long as a car, so have calculate twice the meals. A train might include meals, so you wouldn't add anything.

You can also assign a dollar value to time in transit. Calculate the time for each mode of transportation including stops. Give each hour a price value. Calculate that and ADD it to the total you get including incidentals.

Hope this helps.

Where do you want to go? How will you get there? How much petrol will you need? Flights? How many miles? Travel Agents? Fees? Insurance?

I could go on forever.

Good luck (I am not on the dole lol I am a teacher)

It would seem you are out of your depth - you need to discuss issues with Tutor or Section Leader...
