This question has probably been asked numerous times, but I've never gotten any definitive answer. Is it because of two national anthems? Just to be different?

No.
Their starts used to be scheduled at :05, but they never seemed to start before :07, so the official time was switched to reflect the actual time.
This was done before last season, and the actual start times for their homes games was much more accurate. Basically, it helped their fans at home to plan that much more accurately. And that was the reason that they gave when the change was made.
If it was about 2 anthems, wouldn't that apply to every one of their road games as well? But, then again, the Yankees start their home games at :;10, and they don't play any additional anthems. And if it was about 2 anthems, don't you think that they might have worked that out much earlier - say 1978?
Just to be different? Yeah, as in "being that much more honest with the fans" different.

The Minnesota Twins start games at 7:07 sometimes also... must just be because of the TV station... commercials and all, or maybe the anthem and everything?? who knows!

Canada uses the metric system so things calculate differently from the United States.

I remember I was watchin a Chisox vs BJ game. And it was like 6:05 my time. (7:05 in canada) and all the players were out on the field and ready to go. But they had to wait for the clock to say 7:07. I was like wtf. Yeah its pretty stupid. Canadians are weird man.

yall need to shut up im canadian and we do it because thats when sportsnet told them to start the games when we signed a TV deal. hope that helped.
