ADT charges us a monthly amount for our security service. It's taken out of our checking account automatically.

We are very happy with the service, but have been requesting a statement to be mailed to us for about 4 months, and finally got an email from them saying that if we have automatic billing, they NEVER send a statement. The only way to get a statement is to quit the automatic billing.

Is this legal?

Box815, perhaps you could re-read the question. I know automatic billing is legal.
I want to know if a company is required to send a monthly statement, when we request one.
Your answer is frankly rude and condescending.

Come on...of course it's legal.

What in the world would be "illegal" about automatic billing?

It's cheaper for ADT to bill you automatically and there's much less chance of your being delinquent. Thus, they charge you less for the automatic billing. That's the deal, automatic billing with a cheaper rate or paper billing at a higher rate. Why in the world SHOULD that be illegal?

in no way had that take place to me in 35 years of credit playing cards. additionally i recognize whilst the funds are due (comparable each and each month). If i became to no longer get carry of a bill, i might call and have them digital mail the information.
