I was just realizing how crazy and demented some of the old cartoons were.

Pigs is Pigs had Porky Pig strapped to a chair and force fed tons of food because he was fat and lazy.

Another one with Porky Pig called Wholly Smoke had Porky Pig being forced to smoke and chew tobacco because he spent his church money on a cigar.

A Three Little Pigs cartoon called Practical Pig had the big bad wolf strapped to a machine having his mouth washed with soap and spanked because he was lying.

Even Disney had Donald Duck as a nazi.

Man, we don't see cartoons like these today.

During WWII, cartoons were even used for propaganda with blatant racism aimed at the Germans and Japanesae. Disney was even guilty when back in the early 50's they released the animated feature "Song of the South" which played the race card very heavily. It will never be released again because of the racism it displayed.

I recall back in the late 80's they tried to redo Looney Tunes without the violence. One saturday morning I tuned in to the Bugs Bunny and Road Runner show and watched a few of the "classic" cartoons and the show totally lost it's meaning and punch.

You'd see the Coyote fall off the cliff but never see him hit the floor. A lot of scenes were cut and it was just stupid. They tried to take violence out of cartoons because "someone" felt that it was affecting kids... ah then we had Beavis and Butthead....

They all seem so tame now!

I think we NEED cartoons like this today. It serves as an example to where violence and political incorrectness came from, and is far more entertaining than cartoons today. Watch Spongebob Squarepants and tell yourself THAT isn't violent or showing the same...

Yes I'm quite aware of that. As a kid I was shocked whenever I saw a character kill themselves with a gun.

or I saw horrible cartoons that made fun of black in blackface.

If you can ever get a chance to see "Coal Black and the Sebben Dwarves", do so!

It is the most sexist, racist and ageist cartton ever (one reason you never see it), but it is flat out the funniest one you will ever see.

And there are terrible other things as well.

Ha ha, I wish I could watch those. Today they would be considered unsuitable for children.
