Madonna, Scissor Sisters, Goldfrapp and techno music ??? I thought being gay was about diversity. Why is gay music so cliche and one-dimensional?

That is a sterotype. I am gay. I listen to Hip-Hop, Soul, Neo-Soul, R&B. I go to gay clubs that play that kind of music. We don't all scream and jump up and down for Madonna and Cher. Music is about a personal choice and relating to what you like and loving it. It is not about taste. What I like you might hate and vice versa. I don't think you can call Madonna gay music. I think there are many people out there who are not gay that would disagree with you. Here's a thought. Worry about what you like to listen and put the sterotypes on yourself and off of other people. Happy listening!

Interesting that you would present a stereotype and criticize others for being cliche and one-dimensional.....
I personally don't care for anything you listed.
I prefer rock, new-age, Celtic, metal, and folk.
It seems as though your idea about gay preferences is a cliche and very one dimensional.

Who said that gay music so clichè and one-dimensional? Untrue. Oxymoron. Gay music is considered as one of them most diverse in the world.

I, personally, don't like any of the artists u named. (Except for some of Madonna's material. The newer stuff) And i'm a lesbian. I prefer r&b (old school & new school) and soft jazz. Maybe u shouldn't over-generalize.

I'm gay and I don't like any of those artists that you listed. There is no "gay" music. Some people just like different kinds of music.

i like rock. madonna, britney, rihanna, i can not hear to any lady diva in any respect. If it particularly is pop it particularly is nonetheless a band, like maroon 5 (songs approximately jane), or coldplay or some thing.

Everyone is different. I happen to like techno, but also like rock, 80's, and even some country. Not everyone fits into your preconceived cubby holes.

Ahh, never heard of Goldfrap, wouldn't know a Scissor Sisters song if it pissed on me. Madonna, I never really understood why she is so popular.

I like your basic three America styles of music.

1. Country
2. Western
3. Country/Western.

Damn stereotypes.
