I don't think it's clogged because it's only been in less than a year. It will drain much more quickly if I jiggle the drain plug.... as if to be letting out an air bubble. Then it drains fine. It's a bathroom sink. Is there something I can do to not get that air bubble in there?

under the sink where the drain assembly is, the tube that comes down from the sink drain. Look for a rod that goes into this tube. Take the rod out, should be a nut holding it in might be plastic, might be metal. Take note of how it went together. Removing this rod will allow you to take out the pop up in your sink and remove the hair clog you have. Trust me on this one.

It could be starting to clog. There's no real time schedule. If it's a bathroom sink, it could be soap, hair, shaving cream...
If it's the kitchen sink, could be grease, food, etc. Put a big pan of water on the stove and bring it to a boil. Pour the boiling water down the drain. If it backs up...plunge it, till it opens. You might need to do this several times. It's safer than pouring in the chemicals(only as a last resort)

It sounds like either a partial clog in the drain or it could be your vent is clogged. Do you live in an area where there are a lot of trees, squirrels, or woodland creatures scurrying on your roof?

Do you shave at that sink?? If you do you might want to get underneath the sink and disconnect the U shaped elbow and see if there is any build up in there. I am betting there will be.
