Don't feel to bad. I have gained about 10lbs and I am 14 weeks along. I have no idea why because i have been very sick and do not eat a bunch of food.
I think that is just about right for where you are at in the pregnancy

the average weight gain is around 23 lbs during the whole pregnancy. However, it depends on the individual. I have only gained 11 pounds and I am due in 2 weeks. Other women I know have gained over 60 pounds.
I think if you are concerned, you should probably try to eat more healthy.. Get the idea out of your head that you need to feed yourself enough food for "two".. Its a matter of what types of food you eat.. So yes, while you are eating for you and your baby, its all about the nutrition that you are both getting.
Eat your regular meals, then use fruits and veggies as snacks in between instead of cookies or candy bars etc.
Part of it might also be water gain, some people gain more water earlier on than they do later. Keep track of what you are eating, and take the list to the o.b. and ask him what he thinks on the matter. Soon enough you;'ll have your first ultrasound and get to see how big the baby is, if the baby is growing too fast, then the doctor will run some early blood tests to see if you are diabetic. Always keep your o.b. informed. You both have to work together to have a healthy pregnancy. Good luck

As long as you are eating healthy, it is a healthy weight gain. I gained 30 lbs with #1, eating snickers bars all the time. I only gained 15 lbs with #2, #3, and #4 because I craved grapefruit all the time, ate several of them each day. Women gain different amounts and at different intervals, Just remember you will gain most of your weight during the last month, whether you want to or not, because the baby is gaining. You sound like things are ok, so don't worry. Your doctor will definitely let you know if you are getting too heavy.

Are you exercising?
It's really important, it helped me A LOT with back pain, appetite, sleeping better, etc. Also I've heard it's good preparation for birth. I walk 30-40 mins a day, most days a week.
But honestly, you don't sound like you've gained too much weight. I'd gained about that much by then. It's going to seem like a lot on the scale but you won't feel fatter, I didn't.
There is not a whole lot you can do about weight gain during pregnancy.
Average weight gain is NOT 23 pounds, it's 30!

It's totally normal. You need to take into account where weight is also gained...not just the baby. Amniotic fluid, breasts getting bigger, etc. I have a book that suggests gaining 12 pounds by week 20 for singleton pregnancies. So I'd say you are right on target! It also recommends 20 pounds by week 28.
I'm expecting twins and have gained 30 pounds at 25 weeks.

I'm 25 weeks and I've gained 30 lbs! but I have a lot of water retention ... eek!
I was normal weight to begin with.
I'm eating healthy too .. it just depends on the person. My boobs also went up a cup and a half! I'll probably be a double D .. so the water weight and boob weight have something to do with it.
And, I walk .. and my blood pressure is low.. I feel great!
It's not how much weight you gain ... it's how you feel!
good luck! God bless!

That sounds fine! I gained 10 lbs in one month and now, at my 30th week, I've only gained 8 more lbs. It does depend on the woman's body, but I was about 110 lbs. prepregnancy. Since you're eating healthy, I'm sure you won't have to worry about gaining 50 lbs. Unless your doctor becomes alarmed, do not worry yourself.

Girl you wan to talk about gaining to much weight. Inmy 4 and 5 onths with my first child I gained 10lbs each month. That's like the whole amount of weight your suppose to gain your entire pregnancy. Funny thing is that when I was pregnant with my second I barely gained any weight, most of time I weighed the same and my first weighed less than my second.

I am 20 weeks and my doc said 10 pounds would be normal weight gain, although I haven't gained any. So according to my doctor your in an average weight gain bracket. Don't stress it. If your baby is healthy your fine, and you didn't weigh that much to begin with.

when i was pregnant i gained 12 pounds in one month, that was way more then my doctor liked, but it only happened once, i was doing really well with my weight cept towards the end we realized i was retaining water. so maybe you are just retaining water and its not accuall fatty stuff you know... the irony in it all is that i was induced because i had low fluid, which my doctor told me was because i was dehydrated. btw... i gained 40 pounds in my hole pregnancy... my daughter is 7 weeks and i have already lost 31 pounds with out eating healthy or excerising. so dont get discouraged, just try and do your best. i didnt breastfeed, but i did use a pump for about 2 or 3 weeks.
