You fight back.

Even if you get beaten up, you will make a statement that you are not that easy of a pushover. And, my dear friend, ANYTHING goes, OK?

Hi,
Listen, first of all, don't listen to anyone telling you to carry weapons or how to crush anyone's anything. Fighting is one thing, assault with a weapon is quite another. One might get you detention, the other could get you into a juvenile detention center.

You seem like a smart kid, based on the quality of the writing and spelling in your question (unlike the writing and spelling of most of the answers). You know if you can take this problem to your parents or not. If you can, that's the first place to go. If they aren't the type of parents to support you, then the school administration is second.

Like someone else said, many schools are adopting a zero tolerance policy, which is fine as far as it goes, but remember, you aren't always on school grounds and school policies are good when they can be enforced. Know some basic self-defense skills, just in case. But never, ever strike first. That makes you the bully.

The way you describe the incident at your school, it sounds serious enough that the attacker could face criminal charges should something like this happen again (not that I'd wish that on you). Keep it in mind. Assault is against the law, no matter what your age is.

Finally, as for your depressed friend and your friendship with him, I have a question. Why can't HE talk to his brother about you? Friendship is a two-way street, after all. Or, if the brother comes at you first, try suggesting that. It's something. And help your friend get help to talk to someone. It sounds (based on his brother, which isn't necessarily the best indicator) like there might be some violence in his family, so you could be doing him a big favor. Leave the counseling to the professionals and you simply be a friend. It sounds like that's the best thing you can do for him.

I hope it all works out for you. No one deserves to live in fear.

Walk tall and be confident as you did the right thing by not fighting back.. That doesn't make you scared, it takes more guts to walk away then it does to fight back. Believe me.. you will be much better off then those immature people that feels it is cool to pointlessly hit someone because they are so insecure with who they are.. You took the high road and you will end up on top. These other people who thinks it's cool will be the ones on welfare and living a sad life.. You should be proud and not scared..

Forget the school for help as most school administrators will promise to help but turn their backs when it comes to parent confrontation. If you must.. report it to your local police as this is ASSAULT punishable by law.. which could be anything from a slap on the hand and a warning, to criminal charges and or possible placement in a foster home of the offenders if it continues.

you're sound like a young kid and you should always remember your parents. that they are here to protect you at this age. do not be ashamed of sharing your problems with your parents.

tell them exactly what happened and explain to them what you feel should be done. make sure they understand fully your situation before working out a proper solution to the problem.

maybe you could ask your parents to talk to the 'bully's parents and also to the depressed kid's parents.

and one more thing. always stand up for your own rights. do not continue living the life of a 'bullied'. it could carry on till high school and maybe into your career days. do not be scared!

take care and all the best.

You should stand up for yourself more. You could tell your parents and the school but they can't protect you all the time, so you need to hit them back if they keep doing it. At first you may get hurt worse but after a while you'll learn how to defend yourself better and they won't do it anymore because you will be able to fight back.

Totally is totally correct.Punching someone is very different from poking them with a weapon or deliberately maiming them, follow the advise that Totally gave you and you will stay out of trouble and stop the bullying at the same time.

If you don't fight back when someone picks on you it will be like having a target on your back. Any time someone wants an easy target you may be picked on. Learn some basic techniques on boxing and give as good as you get. Don't start a fight, but don't just stand there if someone is hitting you.

Hi buddy. You need to talk to your parents and to the school counselor. If your parents are no help go straight to the school counselor or Principal. You should not have to fight and should not have to be in fear. Some school districts are adopting a "0-tolerance" policy for bullying. Have courage. And someday this frightening and depressing stuff will be a distant memory.

If someone is repeatedly punching you this is what you should do

block, and keep on saying stop hitting me. say it about 3 times, if he doesnt stop after the 3rd time....WHAM. You really have no choice.

you have to settle this with the brother. sit him down and explain the whole situation. if he doesnt believe go to the authorities at your school and tell them your situation.
