Your baby is not going to gain almost 2 pounds in 2 weeks. Even if you do have a nine-pound baby you will be fine. Women have been giving birth for thousands of years and you will not make history by birthing a nine pounder.
Yes, those last couple weeks drag by and they are a pain. There really is nothing you can "say" to get them to induce you. It is up to the doctor. As long as the baby is thriving in your uterus they will allow the pregnancy to continue. You will make it to 4/20. You won't die.
Cheer up!

Most doctors will not induce delivery unless the baby is late or there is some kind of a problem. I feel your pain. I, too, was in a massive amount of pain in my last month. I asked my doctor how big my baby would be, and she told me he would be as big as my daughter was at birth *7 pounds 5 ounces* My due date came and went, and finally, at 41 weeks, I was induced. I delivered my son very easily, just as easily as my daughter. He was 9 pounds, 10 ounces.
I know that you are completely miserable right now, I was the same way. The only thing I can tell you to do is take it easy, rest lots, and take good care of yourself. I was praying every night that I would go into labor. I never did and ended up getting induced.
There is still the possibility that you could go into labor before all of this happens, though. My sister in law had not dilated at all when being checked at her doctors. The next day, she was in labor. You never know. This baby could come at any time now that you are considered "full term".
If, however, you do go past that due date, you will make it through! I know the idea of having a very large baby is scary, but you can do it. I never would have thought that I would be able to deliver an almost 10 pound baby, but I did, and I did with no complications. Don't pysche yourself out; you don't need the extra stress right now. Just calm down, relax, rest, and wait for your baby to come!
Good luck to you :)

i'm sorry, I feel for you, i'm in the same predicament. I'm also 38 weeks, not dilated either, having contractions etc.. My doc says the same thing. He will not let me go pass 41 weeks.
Chances are if you tried to induce now doesn't mean that you would dilate. I've seen a few women go through this same thing in the last few months. They were induced twice, had no dilation, and ended up having C-sections at week 38 or 39.. But if they would have waited until week 40 or 41 chances are they would have dilated naturally.
I still think you have to right to choose, but i've also been told that they really can't determine the weight of a baby unless the baby is born, so I never pay attention to that part of it. Its a matter if you want to take the chances or not of going through labor possibly more than once..
Ask your doctor to put you on medical leave for complications, "stress is a complication" then you can apply for maternity leave when the baby comes. Sounds like you need to be home relaxing.

Babies are not contractual. They do what they need to.
Ultrasounds are notoriously wrong for guessing weight late in pregnancy. They are frequently off by more than 2 pounds.
Since you are effaced, you will likely dialate soon. Until conditions are right, you would be wasting your time being induced.

Your OB may not feel as tho your baby is ready to come out yet. I know it sucks towards the end but I would do what is best for the health of the baby and not think about your own needs right now.

a 7 lb. baby is not huge, average baby weights are now over 8 lbs. Talk to your doctor tell them your in pain and see if they will induce you, just forewarning labor from being endued is harder than natural labor

i do no longer purely like the be conscious fat until it particularly is observed via pointing and guffawing, so technically that makes you pudgy or properly cushioned. Your BMI (physique Mass Index) is 26.2 and that does placed you interior the obese type. the sturdy information is that a wholesome BMI is decrease than 25 so which you purely ought to lose slightly weight to come back right into a wholesome weight variety! dropping purely 10 pounds might placed you at a wholesome BMI and make you experience lots better!

Yeah I'd definitely try to get myself induced in this case! Explain your situation and I'm sure they'll induce. That's odd because they usually induce if you're anytime overdue.

go to the er and tell them to induce, you are miserable, can't sleep etc. but if you are not dilated yet then it won't make much of a difference, you CAN'T deliver vaginally until you are 10 centimeters dilated. have some sex and have him ejaculate inside you, that is the most natural and most effective way to help with dilation.
