Ok here is my delima I have really bad credit from a messy divorce but because of what got slammed on my credit report I cant get approved to find an appartment so I was told to rent from a private individual in the area problem is I am having trouble finding a place for rent in the area that dosent run credit any suggestions ... and yes I have he backing to be able to carry rent on my own

I live in Memphis... and before we decided to buy a house, we would just drive around looking for the For Rent signs. I'd say that's your best bet to find a private individual to rent from. Just get in your car from weekend and drive. You'll be amazed at what you can find! Good Luck!

Check your local newspaper for rentals that aren't controlled by large management companies. Small houses, duplexes..that sort of thing.
When you find something you like, fill out the paperwork and just simply talk to the landlord. Explain your situation...bad credit, messy divorce, trying to start over, have the financial means to pay your bills. Chances are, you will find a sympathetic soul who will rent to you.
