I really enjoyed reading it. It really in't even in the same catagory as a what to expect book!
The birth stories are awesome and the guidance is wonderful. It is a really informative book.
If you can get past the hippie stuff Ina May has an even older book called "Spiritual Midwifery".
Ina May makes sure to pack her books full of good Birth stories and good technical information. If your anything like me you will appreciate the technical stuff too.

So far each and every book reccomended is great! But none of them are even close to the same in content and presentation.
The birth book written by Dr Sears and Marth sears is a really great book written by two professionals in the medical field. Great information none the less...

Birthing from within... WOW!!! totally awesome! IT really has a lot of good information in it too. It is written by a mother that had a c-section and she is teaching other mothers how to get past bad birthing experiences and she is helping mothers that have no idea what to expect from birth how to cope.

I can't say that I reccomend one over the other. I think that expectant mothers need to read all of them.

The website looks great. I enjoyed Birthing From Within and The Birth Book by Martha Sears. Birthing From Within is probably very similar to the Ina May book, and I think every pregnant woman should read one or the other. It's great that you're considering natural childbirth--it's the best!
