I did that during the winter many years ago especially when skiing.
Sounds like your dad has a problem and just made it worse.
I'd ask your Lil bro why the deviate behavior and point out the embarrassment if his buddies find out.
Better to have him experiment early than to pervert the behavior.

Get some to share with him. If he's cool with it, ask him to join you are you go shopping for them. It's not all that unusual for guys to enjoy wearing them. Most guys that wear them are straight
