Cheerleading, the kind you see at those HUGE competitions is most definately a sport. It takes teamwork and athletic skill to execute those routines. And instead of being a "team on team" competition, it is more like ice skating or syncronized swimming or even ballroom dancing - each team is judged on a set of skills and requirements and those scores are put head to head at the end of the day.

Yes, cheerleading is a game. I am in poor health of every person making those snarky feedback approximately "all megastar cheer is a game however sideline is not..." EXCUSE ME, however are you aware how a lot more institution cheer is than cheering at soccer and basketball video games? We train day and night time, perfecting exercises that no person would ever memorize at the same time hyperventilating from nonstop motion. Did I point out we do flips and stunts that ninety nine% of persons would NEVER study? Oh ya we additionally cross to camp wherein we cheer for thirteen HOURS A DAY.... and we compete towards different squads. And as for physical activities video games, I'm sorry, however would you yell chants out of your stomach, hit tight motions making your hands sore, do sky top jumps and tumbling.. EVERY 10 SECONDS??? For over an hour immediately!!! All with a grin in your face in an uncomfortable uniform!!! Compare that to different physical activities wherein they get the leisure of SITTING ON A BENCH. If I pay attention a different voice inform me cheerleading is not a game, so support me, however you've gotten NO IDEA.

I disagree with the person above. Dancing is a sport. So is cheerleading, synchronized swimming, etc.
Here is the definition of sport, found on www.dictionary.com:
1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
2. a particular form of this, esp. in the out of doors.
3. diversion; recreation; pleasant pastime.
Cheerleading is an athletic activity requiring skill & physical prowess, and when done all-star team cheering, as you mentioned - is done with a competitive nature.
Yes, cheerleading is a sport.

Cheerleading is a sport without a doubt. It's like synchronized swimming but on land! If synchronized swimming is an Olympic sport, I would venture to say that Team Chearleading may also be in the future.

Cheerleading is a sport. I would like to see the people that think that it is not do what they do. They would likely pass out on the floor after a competition routine.

Yes, they are as much a sport as gymnastics is. They do a lot of the same moves. It's a competition that requires athleticism. It's more of a sport than golf, race cars, or pool. I'm sure they at least sweat.
