In pokemon Sapphire can you start a knew file without deleting another file you have?

I don't want to delete my old file but I want to make another file.

Unfortunately, no. Every Pokemon game to date has only been able to support one save file. If you want to both keep your current one and start a new one, you'll either have to lose your data, buy another game, or play another version. Sorry

If it's the same as Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Gold and Silver, it does not support multiple save files.
