At this early stage you really wouldn't be any hungrier or more tired than you would be with one baby. The earliest sign would be at your 16 week check up when two heartbeats are heard.

I am 25 1/2 weeks pregnant with identical girls. Being a fraternal twin myself, I too thought it would skip a generation. I found that to be false when we found out at our first ultrasound there there were two babies and not just one. At our second ultrasound they determined that they were identical, so that was also a surprise.
One thing that indicated twins (now looking back on it) was that our pregnancy tests came up positive really fast and strong. Both using a home pregnancy test and when we went to the doctor. I also did not have morning sickness bad, but was tired a lot. I would lay down to take a name in the early evening and sleep straight through to the next morning.
Best of luck to you in your pregnancy and congrats whether there's just one or two!

Those sound like the regular pregnancy symptoms. With twins you usually get the symptoms, just with more oomph! There is always a chance you could be pregnant with twins, no way to tell until you go for your ultrasound. Good luck! Twins run in my family, too. I'm glad I had my singleton, though! Have a happy, healthy pregnancy. :)

There really aren't any early symptoms of a twin pregnancy. You may or may not have exaggerated symptoms. I had very little morning sickness with my twin pregnancy, but with this singleton I'm super sick. Fatigue, during the first trimester is common. Each pregnancy is different.
Some facts for you. Identical twins to not run in families, they are a "fluke of nature," if you will. It does not matter if your partner has twins in his family, that will not affect your chances of conceiving twins. Twins do not skip a generation. It sometimes appears so because a father can pass the genetic trait for fraternal twins on to his daughter, giving her a higher likelihood of having fraternal twins. Here's some real crazy info. Scientists have now discovered a semi-identical twin. This occurs when one egg is fertilized by two sperm, splits and creates two babies. They are alike in terms of their DNA from Mom, but different in their DNA from Dad. So we have identical, fraternal, and semi-identical. Fun, eh? Best of luck.

girl, i had my first ultrasound at about 18 weeks and that is when i found out that i was pregnant with twins. i had gone to the doc the week before and the nurse was acting kinda weird after she listened to what we thought was one heartbeat. then she asked about twins running in the family, but i didn't think anything of it. then a few days later, bam, you're having twins. i really don't think there is any way to tell other than the ultrasound. good luck and keep me posted!!

There are no outward signs of being pregnant with twins. All the symptoms your having are just common pregnancy things. The only way to know your having twins is by ultrasound or fetal heart monitor.

The signs of twins are the same with a one child pregnancy. They just get much more elevated
You may feel alot more sick and vomit alot with no relief because of the extra amount of hormones in your system
You may look bigger sooner
You may seem hungrier than usual and feel the need to eat again
Pregnant women urinate alot but with twins it doubles

Since you'll be going to your dr soon, it's best to ask your dr.
I think regular pregnancy systoms is what you should look out for. Since every woman is different, how much you'll feel which symptom will vary.
